Childhood Memories...

homeschooling in the woods

Recently the boys were telling me some of their favourite childhood memories.

What's surprising is the memories they shared weren't the times they received a new gift, or participated in a structured activity.

They were the times we picked Hazelnuts in Autumn. The time they built a Snowman at Christmas and then had to rebuild it in the Garden as the first one was blocking the track for the farmers tractor.

It was the times we went for spooky Midnight walks up the lane to see if we could see a Badger. It was Mums Courgette and Mushroom soup, woodcarving and family walks.

It was not the things that are sold to us.

But what we do together...

As a family.
